3 ways to start the year with clear and achievable goals

It is true, the year begins and that does not imply that by magic your life will change and it will become a sea of flowers with pink skies but neither are we (rolling eyes). Let's not be haters of the New Year's vibes, but if we are builders of a much better future against all odds, whether or not it is the beginning of the year, allow yourself to dream with your feet on the ground! Here we share some tips that will help you take advantage of all that New Year's adrenaline in your favor, without procrastinating and without falling heavy. Of course, emotion alone is not enough, it requires you to put a bit of your head into it, consume some neurons and end up with an artistic piece of your annual project with the option to improve it as the months go by.

:: Believe in the magic of new beginnings without leaving everything to chance ::

.

What we share with you is the result of some research - this is not a story - that will help you to start this year on the right foot, a term, a semester, whatever; Remember that it is never too late to organize ourselves better and expect better results:

.

1) Bye bye commentators of my life

If you set yourself a goal that doesn't really help you at all, it's obviously not worth it. Turn down the noise of your cell phone, your family, your friends and even your partner and really ask yourself what makes you feel good. Sometimes we do things that society imposes on us or our own limiting thinking based on "what will they say" or "my family didn't raise me for this." Buy yourself an agenda, not the kind that you forget in a month but an agenda or diary where you can write when you want, that you can finish filling in 5 years or in a day if you feel like it.

.

Take time alone to listen to their thoughts, how your body reacts when you experience a situation, the times you smile but feel terrible inside and allow yourself to feel and manifest your true "self". Once you confirm that what you do fills you up or that you have something in mind that you have wanted to do for a long time, allow yourself to make a mistake and rethink it better. Only knowing what you really want will help you set goals that will bring optimal results. What is the use of buying a car if what you really need is a cute kitten?

:: Be clear about who you are, what you want and in addition you will find how and when ::

.

2) Nothing creates itself, you need a Big Bang in your life!

Just as the universe was created after a Big Bang, if you feel that you need a big change, that something is missing, then it is time to look for it and make it come true. At this point you have already recognized what you need in your life and now we get closer to planning how to achieve it.

The first thing you need to do is check your network of contacts. Get together with the group of people who already have experience in the direction you want to take, do not be afraid to ask questions, to become the shadow of another to learn or to share your idea with someone else. If we talk about entrepreneurship, sometimes we believe that people steal your ideas, but in reality you hesitated so much about doing it that the other said "I'll do it." It sounds bad but it is the truth, so when you share your idea and get feedback, apply it immediately and give us another chance to do what you want to do.

.

If we talk about improving in one aspect of your life, be it physical, financial, social, work, love or any other, it never hurt anyone to share their thoughts to receive good advice. EYE asking for advice does not mean that everyone who crosses your path will give you a great answer, there will be many who in their frustration and conformism for years will tell you not to change, not to improve or not to do anything other than what they do. they made. Ask the right people, the ones you admire, the positive ones and learn to listen to that 10% who is ready to dazzle you with their genius and open up a new perspective on life. Very few people are so generous who recommend what to do, how to do it and who even make themselves available to help you achieve it. Believe me, looking looooong you will realize that they do exist.

3) Apply the bird's eye view to see better and not make a mistake on the specifics. Please!

You have already gone through the previous two steps and now we are fully into planning. Just as you did planning for the college project, you need to apply the same in your own life. We have always been told that goals must be clear and specific, but how am I going to plan my life like this in such detail? You can't, that's why in real life "bird's eye view" planning is about giving yourself more time - realistic time that considers setbacks - to reach an overall goal that is neither overstated, demotivating, or unambitious. It is to see your life from far outside and far so that once you decide what the general objective is, you go down to write specific objectives.

.

For example: You want to lose 30 pounds for health reasons. In your planning a bird's eye view separated into 12 parts (because each one corresponds to a month of your year) you will put at the end of each semester that you had to have lost 10 pounds. On a separate sheet you put that in January you are not going to diet but you are going to start exercising, in the second month you are going to eliminate rice and bread, in the third month you are going to eliminate sweets and suddenly in the Fourth month in which you planned to lose 10 pounds, you lost 20! What will you do in the 2nd semester? Don't expect to lose 20 more pounds but instead put yourself in "keep the weight off, keep off the lost pounds and lose 5 pounds" mode (half of the missing pounds).

.

What is the bird's eye view for? To be clear about what you want during the year, so as not to rush to achieve it and so that you remember that sometimes we achieve what we want quickly and other times we take longer than we expected, but the important thing is to make the necessary changes in the remaining months .

.

:: Remember that objectives change over time, you change over time and it is important to pursue what we want without putting too much pressure on ourselves but adapting the strategy if necessary ::
