The Vice Presidency of Ecuador named its Conference Room after Matilde Hidalgo de Procel in honor of the pioneering suffragist's legacy. The event included speeches by Vice President María Alejandra Muñoz, Rosalía Arteaga, and Jodie Padilla.

Ecuadorian scientists, inspired by Matilde Hidalgo de Procel, have named a new species from the eastern mountains of the Loja canton Pristimantis Matildae. We thank the research professors at the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja for this achievement.

Assemblywoman Gloria Astudillo's proposed resolution was approved to officially celebrate June 9th as National Women's Suffrage Day in honor of Matilde Hidalgo de Procel. The founder of Team Matilde supported the initiative.

On November 21, 2019, to everyone's surprise, Matilde Hidalgo de Procel was celebrated by a giant! Google commemorated her status as Ecuador's first female doctor with a Doodle. This was at the request of the founder of Team Matilde.
